First impressions of the East Tower Junior Suite
The bedroom in the East Tower Junior Suite at Camelot Castle Hotel in Tintagel featuring a traditional four poster bed.
When you enter the East Tower Junior Suite, the first thing you notice is the character of the room. The suite sits in one of the corners of the building, meaning it benefits from multiple windows and plenty of natural light.
There is artwork displayed throughout the room and the stonework around the windows adds to the historic feel of the building. Camelot Castle is an older property and much of the charm comes from these architectural details.
The four-poster bed
The centrepiece of the room is the large four-poster bed.
The bed features detailed wooden posts and pillars, particularly around the base where the feet sit. It’s a grand design that fits perfectly with the castle setting.
While it’s not the type of bed most people would have at home, it certainly adds to the experience of staying somewhere as unique as Camelot Castle Hotel.
The bedding also looked very comfortable and well presented.

The East Tower suite also includes a small seating area which gives the room more of a suite feel rather than just a bedroom.
Inside the room you’ll find:
A sofa and coffee table
Bedside tables
A TV with remote controls
Storage space for clothes
Books available to read during your stay
Artwork is dotted around the suite which continues the traditional décor theme.
Views from the East Tower Suite

The windows in the East Tower suite overlook the village of Tintagel and parts of the surrounding Cornish coastline.
Some rooms at Camelot Castle face directly out to sea, but even from this suite you still get a glimpse of the coast and countryside.
You can also see the hotel helipad below and views stretching across the landscape.
We actually booked this room the day before arriving, so the sea-facing rooms had already been taken. Even so, the East Suite still offers a pleasant outlook.
The bathroom
The spacious bathroom in the East Tower Junior Suite at Camelot Castle Hotel featuring a sunken jet bath and rainfall shower.
The bathroom is one of the most spacious parts of the suite.
Inside you’ll find:
Twin sinks with mirrors
A large built-in sunken bath with jets
Separate rainfall shower
Toilet and bidet
Bathroom amenities including body wash and lotion
The bath is built into a large unit and the jets allow you to enjoy a relaxing bubble bath after a day exploring the Cornish coast.
Two windows in the bathroom provide similar views to those from the bedroom.
One interesting detail was an old-style barometer and thermometer on the wall, which adds to the historic character of the building.
Historic character of the hotel
Camelot Castle Hotel is a very old building and that’s something worth remembering when staying here.
For example, power sockets may not always be in the most convenient places compared with modern hotels, but that’s part of staying somewhere with genuine history.
When you book a room in a castle-style building like this, you expect a traditional atmosphere and Camelot Castle certainly delivers that.
