Bodmin Holiday Park Review (2026): Our 4-Night Stay in a Platinum Lodge
The entrance to Bodmin Holiday Park in Cornwall, where we stayed for four nights in a Platinum Lodge.
If you're looking for a peaceful holiday park in Cornwall that offers modern accommodation and easy access to many of the county's top attractions, Bodmin Holiday Park could be exactly what you're searching for.
We recently spent four nights in one of the park's two-bedroom Platinum Lodges, having never stayed at a Park Holidays UK resort before. We arrived with no real expectations, but by the end of our stay we were pleasantly surprised by what we found.
Unlike many of Cornwall's coastal holiday parks, Bodmin Holiday Park isn't designed around evening entertainment or busy beaches. Instead, it's a relaxing base that's perfectly positioned for exploring Cornwall while returning each evening to a quieter setting.
In this review, we'll take you inside our Platinum Lodge, explore the facilities around the park, share some of the best places to visit nearby and give you our overall verdict on whether we'd stay at Bodmin Holiday Park again.
Disclosure: We were kindly invited by Park Holidays UK to experience Bodmin Holiday Park for this review. Our stay was complimentary, but all opinions and experiences shared are our own.

About Park Holidays UK
Park Holidays UK operates a collection of holiday parks across England, Scotland and Wales, offering everything from traditional caravan holidays to luxury lodges and holiday homes.
Many of its parks are located in popular coastal and countryside destinations, making them a good option for families, couples and anyone looking for a UK staycation.
Facilities vary between locations, with some larger parks offering swimming pools, entertainment and activities, while quieter destinations such as Bodmin Holiday Park provide a more relaxed base for exploring the surrounding area.
Bodmin was our first experience of staying with Park Holidays UK, and after such an enjoyable four-night break, we'd certainly consider visiting more of their holiday parks in the future.

Where is Bodmin Holiday Park?
Bodmin Holiday Park is located just outside the historic town of Bodmin and only a few minutes from the A30.
Although the park isn't located on the coast, we actually found its central location to be one of its biggest strengths.
Many of Cornwall's best-known attractions, towns and villages can be reached within around 10 to 40 minutes, making the park an excellent base for anyone wanting to explore different parts of the county during their holiday.
Whether you want to visit the Eden Project, Padstow, Lanhydrock, Bodmin Jail or explore the beaches on Cornwall's north and south coasts, everything is comfortably within reach.
For anyone planning to spend their holiday exploring Cornwall rather than remaining on the park every day, it's an excellent location.
The main clubhouse at Bodmin Holiday Park houses reception, the bar, restaurant, indoor swimming pool, gym and small shop.
First Impressions of Bodmin Holiday Park
As soon as we drove into the park, we noticed how well maintained everything looked.
The landscaped grounds, modern lodges and attractive chalet-style accommodation immediately gave a good first impression.
One thing that stood out throughout our stay was just how peaceful the park felt.
If your ideal holiday involves relaxing outside with a morning coffee while listening to birdsong rather than busy evening entertainment, you'll probably appreciate the atmosphere here.

Our Two-Bedroom Platinum Lodge
We stayed in one of the newer two-bedroom Platinum Lodges in the Kernow development.
Walking inside, the first thing that struck us was the amount of space.
Unlike a standard caravan, these lodges are approximately 40ft by 20ft, creating the feeling of staying in a modern holiday home rather than traditional holiday park accommodation.
Everything felt contemporary, bright and very well presented.
The spacious open-plan lounge in the two-bedroom Platinum Lodge at Bodmin Holiday Park, featuring comfortable seating, a large TV and patio doors leading onto the decking.
Living and Dining Area
The open-plan living area was incredibly spacious and comfortable.
It featured a large sofa, armchair, coffee table and media wall with a large television.
Behind the living area was a dining table with seating for four, while the kitchen also included a breakfast bar with four stools.
Large patio doors allowed plenty of natural light into the lodge and provided access to the outdoor decking area.
The lodge also overlooked trees and countryside rather than neighbouring accommodation, helping to make the entire space feel particularly private and relaxing.
The fully equipped kitchen in the two-bedroom Platinum Lodge at Bodmin Holiday Park includes a full-size oven, gas hob, microwave, Tassimo coffee machine and plenty of workspace.
Kitchen Facilities
The kitchen genuinely impressed us.
We've stayed in plenty of self-catering accommodation over the years, and this was one of the best-equipped kitchens we've used.
Facilities included:
Full-size fridge and freezer
Five-ring gas hob
Oven and grill
Microwave
Dishwasher
Washing machine
Bosch Tassimo coffee machine
Kettle and toaster
Plenty of cupboard space
Excellent selection of crockery, cookware and cutlery
Everything was clean and ready to use when we arrived.
Another advantage of the park's location is that several large supermarkets can be reached within a short drive, making it easy to stock up for your stay.
The master bedroom in the two-bedroom Platinum Lodge at Bodmin Holiday Park includes a king-size bed, bedside lighting, towels, bathrobes and an ensuite bathroom.
Master Bedroom
The main bedroom felt much more like a hotel room than traditional holiday park accommodation.
It featured a comfortable king-size bed, television, dressing area, large wardrobe and an ensuite shower room.
Towels, bathrobes and slippers were also provided.
Most importantly, we both slept extremely well throughout our stay and found the bed surprisingly comfortable.
For us, the quality of the bed is always one of the biggest factors when reviewing accommodation.
The twin bedroom in the two-bedroom Platinum Lodge at Bodmin Holiday Park offers two full-size single beds, bedside table and towels for guests.
Twin Bedroom
The second bedroom was another pleasant surprise.
Rather than squeezing two small single beds into a compact room, the Platinum Lodge had a genuinely spacious twin bedroom.
It featured two full-size single beds, a dressing area, wardrobe, plenty of storage and conveniently located sockets for charging phones and other devices.
Slippers were also provided for both guests.
It's a bedroom that would comfortably accommodate both children and adults.
Bathrooms
The lodge included both a family bathroom and an ensuite.
The family bathroom featured a full-size bath with an overhead shower, while the ensuite had a spacious walk-in shower.
Toiletries, towels and toilet rolls were provided from the moment we arrived.
They're small details, but they make settling into your accommodation much easier after a long journey.
The private wraparound decking outside our two-bedroom Platinum Lodge at Bodmin Holiday Park provides outdoor seating and views across the holiday park.
Outdoor Decking
Outside the lodge was a private decking area overlooking trees, with one of the park's fishing lakes just beyond.
It quickly became one of our favourite places for a morning coffee.
The combination of birdsong, mature trees and very little passing traffic creates a wonderfully peaceful atmosphere that's quite different from many larger holiday parks.
Thinking of Booking Bodmin Holiday Park?
Prices vary throughout the year depending on the accommodation you choose, the length of your stay and the time of year.
During our visit, a four-night Monday-to-Friday break in our two-bedroom Platinum Lodge was available for approximately £480 during the first week of July.
Considering the quality and size of the accommodation, we thought this represented good value, particularly during the summer season.

The bar inside the clubhouse at Bodmin Holiday Park serves a range of drinks and is located alongside the restaurant, seating area and reception.
Facilities at Bodmin Holiday Park
Although Bodmin Holiday Park isn't a large entertainment-led resort, there's still plenty available for guests to enjoy.
Facilities include:
Indoor swimming pool
Fishing lakes
Tennis court
Children's play area
Bar
Restaurant
Small shop
Holiday home sales centre
The atmosphere throughout the park is considerably quieter than you might find at larger holiday resorts.
For us, that was part of its appeal.
You can spend your days exploring Cornwall before returning to the park for a peaceful and relaxing evening.
Indoor Swimming Pool
Bodmin Holiday Park has its own indoor swimming pool.
During our visit, swimming sessions needed to be booked in advance for a designated time slot.
As the pool isn't particularly large, we actually think this system works well by helping prevent it from becoming overcrowded.
One of the well-maintained fishing lakes at Bodmin Holiday Park, offering a peaceful setting for anglers during their stay.
Fishing Lakes
The fishing lakes were one of our favourite parts of the park.
Even if you're not interested in fishing, they're a lovely place for a quiet walk.
Surrounded by mature trees and wildlife, the lakes add considerably to the peaceful atmosphere of Bodmin Holiday Park.
Fishing is available for an additional charge, and if you're planning to fish during your stay, we'd recommend checking the latest arrangements directly with the park before travelling.
The outdoor children's play area at Bodmin Holiday Park is located beside the clubhouse and offers a safe space for younger guests to enjoy.
Tennis Court and Children's Play Area
There's also a tennis court located close to the main reception building.
Rackets and balls may be available to hire, although we'd recommend checking the latest arrangements when you arrive.
Families travelling with younger children will also find an outdoor play area with climbing equipment, slides and swings.
The on-site restaurant at Bodmin Holiday Park offers indoor seating with views over the outdoor terrace and children's play area.
Clubhouse, Bar and Restaurant
The main clubhouse building includes reception, a small shop, bar, restaurant and the indoor swimming pool.
Bodmin Holiday Park doesn't offer the large entertainment venues or nightly shows found at some larger holiday parks.
Instead, the clubhouse provides somewhere to enjoy a drink or meal without leaving the park.
For us, this suited the overall atmosphere perfectly.
Most guests are likely to spend their days exploring Cornwall before returning to the park to relax in the evening.

Our Verdict on Bodmin Holiday Park
We arrived at Bodmin Holiday Park expecting a fairly typical holiday park experience.
Instead, we found somewhere much quieter, more relaxing and considerably better presented than we'd anticipated.
The Platinum Lodge was spacious, modern and extremely well equipped.
The fishing lakes and landscaped grounds created a peaceful atmosphere, while the park's location made exploring Cornwall incredibly straightforward.
If you're looking for busy evening entertainment, large amusement arcades and a packed programme of activities, Bodmin Holiday Park probably won't be the right choice for you.
However, if you're looking for modern accommodation, peaceful surroundings and a convenient base for exploring Cornwall, we think it's definitely worth considering.
Would We Stay at Park Holidays UK Again?
Absolutely.
This was our first experience of staying with Park Holidays UK, and it genuinely exceeded our expectations.
We particularly enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere, the quality of our Platinum Lodge and the freedom to explore different parts of Cornwall throughout our stay.
After spending four nights at Bodmin Holiday Park, we'd certainly consider staying at another Park Holidays UK resort in the future.
